Please read our monthly newsletter, it has important information for upcoming courses and free events for adults & children.

Courses start next Monday in our institute in 69 Worcester Boulevard. There are a few spaces left in some courses, please send us your enrolment form and pay ASAP.

 

We had a busy term break, this is the first time we have offered our Spanish Immersion Holiday Program and it has been a success. We had so much fun!

We had also offered Traveller’s Workshops and Conversation classes for Beginners & Intermediate.

Fee increase in 2015: Please read our FAQs regarding our fee increase. We are offering a discount to all students who have done courses in the last 4 years, please check it out.

Payments: please remember we require students to pay in full before courses start. Please refer to Terms & Conditions and FAQs.

Books: You need your own book when you are in class. You can buy books from us – subject to availability, from The Book Depository or online (a cheaper version to use in your computer). Please check all options in our link here.

Adult courses

Courses are on Monday and Thursdays. Please check each level to see what class is suitable for you. Some classes are almost full, please enrol and pay now to secure your space.

Conversation classes – pop-in classes for registered students – $25 per class

If you have not done any Speak Spanish workshops or courses before, you will have to enrol and attend one before enrolling into these classes. These are 3 classes specially planned to practice your speaking skills in Spanish – at your level. That means, if you are attending Conversation for Beginners the class will be more guided and conversation will be restricted to the topics developed in class. If you care coming to the Conversation for Intermediate you will be expected to speak in Spanish with virtually no translations.
You can pay per class or get 10% discount when paying for 8 weeks.

• Intermediate – every Weds on Term 1 – 6.00 to 7.30pm
• Beginners – every Weds on Term 1 – 7.35 to 9.05pm

Workshops – 3hs on the same day/night

We will offer Travellers Workshops outside the institute during term time. Please check our website for locations, schedule & fees.

Grammar and Pronunciation workshops will be offered once a Term in our institute.

Free evenings – for registered students only

Tapas Night – on week 9 we offer a social fun evening for all students in our institute. This term it’ll be on Tuesday 31 March – families will be invited between 5.00 and 6.00pm and adult students from 6.30 to 8.00pm.

Spanish Book Club – Do you want to improve your Spanish language skills?  this is a new option for those willing to practise a little more. Reading is a fantastic way to maintain, improve your fluency and build up your vocabulary even if you just started (please come along if you are in the Beginners classes, this meeting will be suitable for you!). All levels are welcome! Join us for a great discussion and guided conversation about Spanish stories/texts. We will have one Book Club meeting every month. Open to readers who have a love of Spanish language and culture.

Children & family courses

Children & parents courses are starting next week in our institute. There are some spaces, please enrol now!

• Wednesday 4.30pm – 4-7 years old (60 minutes class – new)
• Satursdays 9.00am – 2-3 years old (45 minutes class)

After school courses – in primary schools in Christchurch & Selwyn district

Please fill in our contact form to register your interest in any of these schools or you are interested in setting up a class in your school. Fees vary as some school offer a subsidy for our classes.

We are building a small Spanish library in Beckenham School. If you are keen to help building a Spanish library in your school, please talk to us.

We have lunchtime courses in Ladbrooks, Tai Tapu, Lincoln and Fendalton Open Air Schools.

We have after school courses in Beckenham (level 1 & advanced options), Thorrrington and Cathedral Grammar Schools.

Free events for families

Spanish story time will be offered by Laura in Culture Galore 2015 (open to all) – Saturday 7 March. Please check the location and time in our Facebook page. We would love to see you there. This is an activity opened to children ages 2 to 10ish year old. If you haven’t seen our teachers at work, this is a great opportunity to try one of the activities we do in our children classes.

Bilingual children & the benefits of learning a second language meeting – Please come along and talk with us, share your experiences and get ideas on 7 March Culture Galore. We will have an informative stand there next to Mandarin Stars.

Tapas Night (for register students only)- our last event was a sucess. It was the first time we invited some families and we all had fun! Come along with something to eat and have fun playing together. Tuesday 31 March – families will be invited between 5.00 and 6.00pm and adult students from 6.30 to 8.00pm.
