Hola a todos!
It has been a busy start of the term, I am back teaching some courses, Eva is on holiday in South America and Gisella has moved house! This is a great opportunity to read what we are doing and what is coming up soon. We are always in the look out to improve to offer the best professional Spanish courses for adults and children. We love working in a group and we get an immense sense of achivement when adults and children are able to speak Spanish! communicate with their families and friends, travel in Spanish speaking countries and do exchanges and voluntary jobs among other many of the activities you (students) do.
Please read on… we are sure you will find something worth reading below…
NEW: we have added a new Beginners 1 course starting tomorrow 19 May 6.00pm
Fundraising for Ecuador
Please help us raise money to help the victims of the Ecuador’s 7.8 magnitude earthquake. Laura has $10 tickets from St Theresa Church who is kindly organising this fundraising event on May 28th.
Free end of the term event
Gracias Eva & Gisella once more for organising and hosting the last event – Spanish Cooking Class. It was a real success and it was fun! We have decided to give it another go to this idea and offer an Argentinian Cooking Class! on Wednesday 6 July 7.00 to 8.00pm in our institute. Please enrol online on our website or in our Facebook page. We have limited spaces available.
Do you have any comments about your course?
We are here to help you improve, challenge you, have fun and reach your expectations and goals. If you are not happy with your classes you should talk with your teacher first and talk with Laura later if you are still not happy. We are all different! We are able to modify our course plans so please feel free to discuss with us and ask for help if something is not going smoothly as you wanted.
Did you miss any classes?
Remind us by sending an email and we will send you the material we have used in the class you missed. If you miss a class it is not all lost! Please do your homework and ask for help and you will be able to continue without much of a problem.
Can you recommend any apps; extra material to use at home?
Many students often ask us this question. There is a lot in our website and on our Facebook page but our advice is… spend time doing your homework, using your book together with a dictionary at home! We love the book we use and we did choose it for a reason! Please use it at home. Anything you do at home will help you improve so if you have extra time, yes, go ahead and look for an app you like!
Children courses – Spanish Clubs & family courses
We are slowly having some more students in our children courses; we are happy as this helps us to be able to offer them on a regular basis. We are planning our Immersion Holiday Program during KidsFest and also adding a new Spanish for babies session and a workshop for children ages 3 to 5 years old. We’ll be sending out more information soon.
Children have a wide range of resources we use in our classes. It is important to spend some time using them and sharing what they do in classes, this is very helpful!
Teenagers
We have finally managed to start a very tiny course for teenagers on Tuesday evenings. This is a suitable course for beginners and for those who are doing NCEA at school and need some extra practice. Please spread the word!
Eso es todo por ahora! – Un saludo grande y nos vemos en las clases y por Facebook!
(That is all for now! – Regards and see you in class or through Facebook!)
